The volunteers had a special visitor arrive at The Platform today. MP Rosie Winterton, visited The Platform to speak to the volunteers. Rosie was met by all the volunteers ready to tell her all about The Platform and answer all of her questions!
Elaine and Mark explained how The Platform has grown from an idea to it opening. Elaine also showed Rosie the top secret recipe journal, which holds the recipes to all the volunteers amazing homemade treats. Rosie was served a piece of cake and a pot of tea and sat with volunteer Keith, who has a keen interest in politics and discussed many important issues!
Volunteer Michael gave Rosie the grand tour and explained life at Quarryfields and all things Platform.
It was a very successful visit, and The Platform is very pleased to have had the pleasure of serving Rosie. We hope to welcome her again soon!
