The Platform has been preparing for the new pop up shop in August! The volunteers have started a gardening group. The group has been busy in the raised beds, planting potatoes, carrots, sweetcorn and many other fruits and vegetables!
The volunteers have already picked some delicious strawberries and rhubarb which they have used in many of their cakes and tarts!
The group also wanted to start composting, and asked handy men, Dave and Paul to make a compost bin out of an old bookcase. The compost made will help grow the vegetables in the garden, and gives the used coffee grounds a further use!
The volunteers have loved being in the garden in this weather and have enjoyed seeing the seedlings develop and grow!
The Platform is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00am - 15:00pm.
